MGMT Digipak
Front
As a part of my project, i designed and created a digipak to go with my music video.
I took photographs and edited them on photoshop to fit the theme and atmosphere of
the music video. The photographs were taken at the location the video is going to be
shot at and the computer is an important object in our video. I edited the original photograph
of the front cover of the digipak to make more lights, increase the saturation of colour, increase
the contrast and change the amount and colour of the plants on the ground. The photograph has been changed to have a less concrete feel to it and a more abstract, colourful feeling has taken its place. I increased the amount of lights in the background by using the Stamp tool on photoshop. The photograph has been slightly stretched and cropped to form the square shape needed to fit the front cover. I am generally quite pleased with the front cover however if i did it again i would not get completely rid of the concrete part of the image. I really like what i have done with the lights in the background but i would of liked to have taken a landscape photograph so it did not have to be stretched and cropped so much.

Inside 1
The inside of the photograph is a toxic waste sign with a stem so it takes the form of a
flower. I did this because it is quite related to the bands strange, new age image. I made the image blue and black so the colours match the rest of the digipak and so the flower is a silhouette, to much detail would ruin it.

Inside 2

The inside photograph is a fairly simple close up photograph of the computer in a field.
The idea of the computer came from the lyrics from the song:
Every mess invested was a score
We couldn't use computers anymore
It's difficult to win unless you're bored
The digipak needs to be related to the song, in colours, atmosphere and what the song is about, since the song does not really have a storyline the objects mentioned in the song would relate the song and the digipak together instead. The photograph was photoshopped to have a blue filter effect so it colour matches with the front and the back of the digipak.

Back
The back was inspired by The Arctic Monkeys digipak of "Favorite worst nightmare" Simple but effective. The colour of the lights were edited to match the rest of the digipak. the back also carries on the image from the front.
